Revenues from transporting cargo via Kazakhstan's internal waters surges

Kazakhstan’s revenues from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via internal water transport amounted to 484.3 million tenge ($1.1 million) over ten months of 2020, which is 11.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The revenue in Oct. 2020 amounted to 142.9 million tenge ($333,107) which is 2.3 times more compared to the same period last year.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via maritime and coastal transport during the reporting period amounted to 878,870 tons, which is 30.9 percent less compared to the same period of last year.

October’s cargo transportation volume amounted to 130,440 tons, which also is 23.4 percent less year-on-year.

Cargo turnover amounted to 61.8 million ton-kilometers which is 4.3 times more than during the same period of last year. Cargo turnover in October amounted to 11.6 million ton-kilometers which is 9.4 times more than during October last year.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 25.5 million tenge ($59,441) over ten months of 2020, which is 6.2 percent less than during the same period of last year.

October’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to over 200,000 tenge ($466), which is 67.8 times more compared to the same month last year.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 39,220 people, which is 13.4 percent less than during the same period of last year.

The number of passengers transported in October amounted to 2,160 people, which is 28.3 percent less than in the same month last year.
