Most of the previously planned amount of Korean Hyundai buses have been delivered to Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.
Some 339 Hyundai buses were delivered to Turkmenistan from Turkey from August through October 2020. Overall, Turkmenistan will buy 400 buses in South Korea.
The buses were delivered to Turkey by sea from Korea, and then reloaded on river-sea vessels.
A total of seven vessels with cargo were sent along the route through the Lenin Volga–Don Shipping Canal with the final destination- the Turkmenbashi International Seaport of Turkmenistan from the beginning of August to the end of October.
Previous reports said Turkmenistan wanted to purchase Korea’s New Hyundai Super Aero City buses that meet the Euro-4 environmental standards.
This issue was raised at the governmental meeting of Turkmenistan. Speaking at the meeting, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the long cooperation with Hyundai, which is Turkmenistan’s long-standing business partner.
Hyundai company’s buses are widely used on the country's urban and intercity routes.
Hundreds of cars of various models have been recently purchased. This allowed increasing the number of route lines and reducing bus movement intervals.
