A total of 1.2 million vehicles were registered in Kazakhstan over the period from Jan. through Oct. 2020, which is 10.1 percent less than during the same period last year, Trend reports citing KazAutoProm.
Some 1.09 million of these vehicles accounted for secondary registration, which also is 13.7 percent less than during the same period last year. The number of new cars registered for the first time was 128,403 vehicles, which is 37.6 percent more than during the same period last year,
The number of vehicles registered in Nov. alone amounted to 140,120 cars, which is 7.7 percent more than during the same month of 2020 and includes 125,844 cars that underwent secondary registration (increase by 4.8 percent compared to Nov. 2019).
Furthermore, a total of 54 passenger electric cars were registered in Kazakhstan over a period of 11 months as compared to 29 cars registered during the same period last year.
The report also said that the majority of the cars registered for the second time (67.1 percent) were over 10 years old. The largest number of cars registered for the second time also accounted for the Almaty region (167,872 cars).
