Russia, Kyrgyzstan increase import of Kazakh-made passenger cars

Kazakhstan has exported a total of 1,695 passenger cars worth $18.3 million to Eurasian Economic Union countries over the period from Jan. through Sept.2020, which is 34.7 percent more in volume and 0.6 percent less in value compared to the same period last year, Trend reports citing Eurasian Economic Commission.

Thus, the largest number of passenger cars exported by Kazakhstan accounted for export to Russia (1,379 cars worth $10.6 million). Kazakh cars export to Russia also was 37.9 percent more in volume and 19.2 percent more in value than during the same period of last year.

Kazakhstan cars export to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 284 cars worth $7.3 million (increase by 10.1 percent in volume, decrease by 22.2 percent in value), whereas export to Belarus stood at 32 cars worth $282,034.

During the reporting period Kazakhstan has also imported 11,138 passenger cars from Russia, which is 22.3 percent less than during the same period of last year. The value of imported cars was $215.3 million (down by 26.6 percent).

The total volume of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover amounted to $62.8 million over the period from January through Sept. 2020 which indicates a decrease from $72.09 million during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export amounted to $35.3 million during the reporting period of 2020 ($43.1 million in the same period of 2019), whereas imports amounted to $27.4 million ($28.9 million in 2019).
