Volume of cargo unloaded in Iran’s Imam Khomeini announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 11

A total of 25.3 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through December 20, 2020), the Director General of Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran’s branch in Khuzestan Province Adil Deris, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

According to Deris, 13.5 million tons of products were unloaded and 11.8 million tons were loaded in the port over the reporting period.

The director general added that about 6.84 million tons of oil products were loaded and about 18.5 million tons of non-oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port within 9 months.

"At the same time, 92,000 units of TEU containers (approximately 895,000 tons) were loaded and unloaded in this port in nine months. This is an increase of 4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year," he said.
