LADA car sales down in Uzbekistan in 2020

The number of sales of LADA cars in Uzbekistan in 2020 fell by 25 percent, amounting to 5,000 cars, Trend reports with reference to the press service of LADA.

According to the information, most of LADA cars sold outside Russia belong to the markets of Kazakhstan (17,500 cars, market share - 19.6 percent) and Belarus (10,300 cars, market share - 19.5 percent).

Moreover, in Belarus, LADA became the most sold car, as well as in Uzbekistan, where 5,000 cars of the brand were sold.

It was noted that 6,600 LADA cars were sold in Uzbekistan in 2019 and 2,600 cars - in 2018.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to assemble LADA and Renault cars at Roodell's ADM-Jizzakh plant in the Jizzakh free economic zone.

According to the investment program, the design capacity will amount to 100,000 vehicles per year. The project is estimated at $60.9 million, of which $33.3 is planned to be spent in 2021.

The Russian AvtoVAZ group is a part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and produces full-cycle vehicles for four brands: LADA, Renault, Nissan, and Datsun. The group's production facilities are located in Togliatti and Izhevsk cities.

The LADA brand is presented in the B, B +, SUV and LCV segments, which make up five model families: Vesta, XRAY, Largus, Granta and 4×4. The brand occupies 20 percent of the Russian passenger car market.
