Turkmenistan signs contract for aircraft purchase from French Airbus

Turkmenistan signed a contract for the supply of two working A330-200 aircraft from a French Airbus company, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

The corresponding agreement was signed between Turkmen Airlines and French Airbus on January 18, 2020.

The agreement was signed in order to implement the decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dated January 7, 2021, on the purchase of two working A330-200.

As reported, the contract is concluded to successfully solve the tasks provided for in Turkmenistan's national civil aviation development program for 2012-2030, and increase the volume of cargo transportation.

Earlier the president of the country allowed to conclude a contract with the German company Aircraft Finance Germany for the purchase of a Boeing 777-200F cargo airliner.

Turkmen Airlines signed a contract with the American corporation Boeing on the purchase of a new Boeing 777-200LR aircraft, the delivery of which was scheduled for January 2021.

According to Air Transport World, this aircraft was estimated at $346.9 million. The corresponding model was chosen to expand international air traffic to Europe and Asia and beyond.
