Kazakhstan sees country-wide decrease in passengers transportation volumes

A total of 383.4 million passengers were transported in Kazakhstan by all means of transport in Jan. 2021, which is 79.3 percent less than in Jan. 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Thus, the majority of the passengers were transported to Kazakhstan’s Almaty city. The number of passengers transported in the region amounted to 111.8 million people in January 2021, which is 72.2 percent and less than during the same period last year.

Almaty city is followed by the Pavlodar region with 35.2 million people transported in Jan. 2021, which is a decrease of 65.4 percent compared to Jan.2020.

Kostanay region takes third place country-wide by the passengers transported in Jan. 2021 (35.06 million people, down by 76.3 percent).

The least passenger volume was transported in the Mangystau region. The transported passenger volume stood at 1.6 million passengers in Jan. 2021, which is 76.3 percent less than in Jan. 2020.

In turn, the volume of passengers transported over 2020 amounted to 8.3 billion people, which is 64.8 percent less year-on-year compared to 23.8 billion over the same period of last year.
