In general, 1.35 million tons of goods were exported and 17,900 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, a total of 1.91 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port last Iranian year. Of this, 1.75 million tons were loaded and 156,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, 2,690 tons of cargo were loaded and 26,500 tons were unloaded in the port for transit within the last Iranian year, the statistics said.
“Over last year, 398,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 10,400 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage. At the same time, 1,680 tons of cargo were loaded and 102,000 tons were unloaded for other purposes,” the statistics said.
According to the statistics, 792,000 tons of essential products, 20,000 tons of metal products, 462,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 9,700 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in Shahid Bahonar port in the last Iranian year.
Moreover, 42,300 tons of chemicals, 330 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 22 tons of small and assorted products, 103,000 tons of container products, 482,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port during the reporting period, the statistics said.
Reportedly, a total of 123 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports last Iranian year. This is a decrease of 18.1 percent compared to the preceding year. So, 150 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the preceding year.
