Azerbaijan plans to build new terminals in Baku International Sea Trade Port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 8

Azerbaijan’s Baku International Sea Trade Port CJSC plans to build two new terminals, Director General of the port Taleh Ziyadov said.

Ziyadov made the remark during an online meeting with representatives of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce, Trend reports on April 8.

The director-general stressed that it is planned to build terminals for transshipment of mineral products and grain.

"This is connected with an increase in the import of mineral products from Turkmenistan and the supply of a big volume of grain from Kazakhstan," Ziyadov added.

The Baku International Sea Trade Port received the status of the first "green" port in the Caspian Sea in 2019 and was also included in the list of 26 "green" ports in Europe.

The Baku International Sea Trade Port has reached agreements with logistics hubs and transport companies of Asia and Europe in the field of innovations in the transport sector of the region for the next two years.
