About 57,500 tons of cargo were transported through the Jolfa border terminal in the East Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), said Orujali Alizadeh, Director General of East-Azerbaijan Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, Trend reports citing the IRNA.
Alizadeh noted that 24,500 tons of goods were transported through the Jolfa border terminal for imports and exports during the reporting month.
The director added that 33,000 tons of goods were also transported through the border terminal for transit.
"These goods were transported by 3,500 trucks," he said.
As reported, Iran’s Jolfa border checkpoint is located on the border with Iran and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
