Volume of cargo loaded, unloaded in Iran’s Anzali port decreases

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 25 percent in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 113,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the first month. Of this, 26,700 tons were loaded, 86,500 tons were unloaded. In the same month last Iranian year, 152,000 tons of cargo had been loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port.

Furthermore, 25,600 tons of cargo were exported and 83,400 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

“In the 1st month, 1,140 tons of goods were loaded and 2,540 tons were unloaded in the port for transit. As well as, 555 tons of cargo were unloaded for other purposes,” the statistics said.

According to the statistics, 72,300 tons of essential products, 539 tons of metal products, 11,200 tons of construction and mining materials, 289 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 6,220 tons of chemicals, 16,800 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 100 tons of small and assorted products, 5,800 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month, the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
