Kazakhstan's revenue from air transport jumps y-o-y

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 8 billion tenge ($18.7 million) from January through May 2021, which is 2.2 times more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in May 2021 amounted to 2.1 billion tenge ($4.9 million), which is 2.03 times more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 13,850 tons, which is 80.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year (3,770 tons in May 2021, increase by 2.3 times year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 29.4 million ton-kilometers which is 38.1 percent more than during the same period of last year (8.04 million in May 2021, an increase of 49.3 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 108.3 billion tenge ($253.5 million) from January through May 2021, which 46.7 percent more than during the same period of last year. May’s revenue from passenger transportation was 23.2 billion tenge ($54.4 million), which is 2.5 times more than in May 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 3.3 million people, which is 78 percent more than during the same period of last year (759,890 passengers in May 2021, up by 49.3 times).

The passenger turnover amounted to 4.8 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is an increase of 46 percent. May’s passenger turnover was 1.09 billion (4.8 times more year-on-year).
