A small-unit production line was commissioned at the plant for assembling of Yutong buses in Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, Trend reports citing the press office of Kazakh prime minister.

The plant was commissioned during the working visit of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin to the region. The Chairman of the Yutong Group Yuxiang Tang took part in the event.

The plant was constructed by QazТehna company in the region’s city of Saran within the state program for modernization of the bus fleet.

The launch of the small-unit production line will expand the number of new jobs at the plant to 1,000 people. The capacity will be 1,200 buses and 500 units of special equipment per year. The level of localization of production will exceed 50 percent.

The project implementation is expected to give impetus to development of Karaganda region’s economy and support implementation of program for renewal and modernization of public transport via locally-manufactured buses.

As of December 2019, Yutong's total sales in Kazakhstan exceeded 2,000 units, accounting for more than 40 percent of China's large and medium-sized buses exported to Kazakhstan during the period.
