By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgia is negotiating to have Ukrainian and Belarusian airlines carry out flights to the Kutaisi International Airport, said Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.

Kvrivishvili held online meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian low-cost airline SkyUp Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), and the Belarusian airline Belavia.

“We had very positive negotiations. The main attention was paid to the fact that these air carriers began to operate regular flights to the Kutaisi international airport. The renovated Kutaisi airport gives us more opportunities to receive tourists both in Imereti and in other regions of Georgia,” Kvrivishvili said.

According to her, negotiations will also begin with air carriers of other countries so that they begin flights to and from Kutaisi airport.

Kvrivishvili also believes that there is a very good trend in the restoration of aviation and tourism in Georgia.
