Several port facilities to be put into operation in Iran

As many as 16 port facilities and ships will be put into operation in 4 provinces of Iran – Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Bushehr and Mazandaran on July 15, 2021, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran and Head of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), Mohammad Rastad said, Trend reports citing the organization’s portal.

The deputy minister noted that one platform, a cargo terminal on 31 hectares of land, three oil platforms, two service ships and two control buildings will be put into operation in Hormozgan Province.

Rastad added that warehouses on the storing of cargo and a service ship will be put into operation in Khuzestan Province, as well as, electronic and security systems – in Bushehr Province.

“In addition, a 60-ton coastal crane, service buildings, a grain processing plant, electronic and security systems and others will be put into operation in Mazandaran Province,” he said.

The head of the organization emphasized that the PMO has spent 6.87 trillion rials (about $164 million) and 87.9 million euros, while the private sector has spent more than 382 billion rials (about $9.09 million) on these facilities and ships.

According to Rastad, a total of 765 people will be employed after the launch of ships and facilities,
