Azerbaijan imported 6,662 vehicles worth more than $44 million from South Korea in the first half of 2021, Trend reports citing a report of the State Statistical Committee.
According to the committee, imports of cars from South Korea increased by 96.2 percent in quantitative terms and by 74.6 percent in value.
During this period, Azerbaijan imported 3,017 Korean cars with an engine capacity of 1,500-2,500 cubic centimeters worth over $23 million.
Also, 28 hybrid cars were imported from South Korea in the amount of $206,900.
From January through June 2021, Azerbaijan imported 39,643 cars in total, which is 30 percent more compared to the same period of 2020.
