Iran to strengthen transportation of goods - Minister

The Minister of Roads and Urban Development stressed the need to facilitate and strengthen the transportation of goods from the ship to the destination, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi attended the 219th meeting of the Supreme Transport Council to review the latest situation of the stock of basic goods in the country's ports.

“The Ministry of Roads and Urban Development will do its best to provide all necessary permits,” said the minister.

He called on oversight bodies to facilitate the inspection and clearance process of essential goods.

Referring to the need to provide the roads and railways fleet to transport basic goods, Qasemi said that the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in specialized committees will review strategies to increase transport capacity.

He noted that the steps should be taken to increase the loading and unloading capacity of ports by providing the necessary equipment, in long run.

The Deputies of Minister of Roads and Urban Development Shahram Adamnejad, Saeed Rasouli, and Mohammad Rastadm, as well as the Head of Civil Aviation Organization Syavash Amir Mokri and the representative of the private sector, have attended the meeting.
