Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in Iran’s Khorramshahr port increases

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshar port of the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by about 17 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 212,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the fifth month. Of this, about 198,000 tons were loaded and 14,300 tons were unloaded.

“About 198,000 tons of cargo were exported and 13,800 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month,” the statistics said.

Also, 482 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as, 206 tons of cargo were loaded and 15 tons were unloaded for other purposes in the fifth month.

According to the statistics, 8,100 tons of essential products, 1,540 tons of metal products, 188,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,700 tons of equipment, were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

Some 3,970 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 7,960 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
