Cargo movements in Iran’s Astara port up

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 65 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (June 23 through August 22, 2021), compared to the 4th month (June 22 through July 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 31,400 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the fifth month. Of this, 15,400 tons were loaded and 16,000 tons were unloaded.

About 12,600 tons of cargo were exported and 16,000 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

Also, 2,760 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 5th month.

According to the statistics, 14,000 tons of essential products, 350 tons of metal products, 8,760 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 144 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 3,310 tons of chemicals, 1,980 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 25 tons of container products and 2,760 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

As reported, about 11.3 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the fifth month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.98 million tons were loaded and 5.29 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9.8 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
