Iran sees increase in transit of goods

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 9

The transit of goods through Iran increased by 63 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, the Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing the administration.

The official said that about 1.13 million goods were transited through during the reporting the month.

Latifi also added that transit of goods for the 6th month, increased by 16 percent compared to the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2021).

The spokesman stressed that the largest transit of goods in recent months was recorded in the 6th month.

As reported, the transit of goods through Iran increased by 88 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 5.85 million tons of goods were transited through Iran in six months.
