Iran’s PMO sees increase in cargo movements in Bushehr port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 3

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port of the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 21 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2021), compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2021), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 392,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port over the reporting month. Of this, 235,000 tons were loaded and 157,000 tons were unloaded.

During the seventh month, 230,000 tons of cargo were exported and 44,700 tons were imported through the Bushehr port.

In addition, 4,940 tons of cargo were loaded, and 112,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage in the 7th month.

Also, 404 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for other purposes.

According to the statistics, 8,250 tons of essential products, 1,010 tons of metal products, 188,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,170 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Bushehr port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 2,440 tons of chemicals, 2,580 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 33,200 tons of container products, 154,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

As reported, about 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the seventh month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.6 million tons were loaded and 6.36 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 12.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
