Number of passenger planes received by Iran's Bandar Abbas International Airport increases

The number of passenger planes received by Bandar Abbas International Airport in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 28 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, the airport received a total of 6,300 passenger planes in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the number of passenger planes received by Bandar Abbas International Airport amounted to 4,930 units.

“In total, 441,796 passengers were transported through the airport in six months. During the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 441,641 passengers,” the statistics said.

In addition, 4,450 tons of cargo were transported through Bandar Abbas International Airport over six months. Cargo transportation increased by 7 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 4.16 million tons of cargo were transported through this airport in the same period last Iranian year.

Reportedly, Bandar Abbas International Airport is located on an area of 4.480 hectares.
