A total of 6.68 million tons of cargo were transported from the Alborz Province (northern Iran) to various provinces of Iran, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), Deputy Director General for Roads and Transport Department of Alborz Province, Esmaeil Amirzadeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The deputy noted that the main cement, foodstuffs, agricultural products and metal products were main transported goods from the province over the reporting period, of which 60 percent was accounted for cement.
Amirzadeh also added that there are currently 84 truckingcompanies and 9,575 drivers operating in Iran's Alborz Province. These companies own and operate a total of 10,500 trucks.
There are more than 3,500 manufacturing enterprises in the Alborz Province.
