Iran records surge in number of flights via Shahid Beheshti Airport

The number of flights via the Shahid Beheshti International Airport in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) increased by 30 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, 13,451 flights (passenger planes only) were carried out through the airport in 9 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 11,693.

Within nine months, a total of 1,144,098 passengers were transported through Shahid Beheshti International Airport, which is an increase of 47 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, passenger transportation via the airport for the same period last Iranian year amounted to 779,553.

“Furthermore, 12,598 tons of cargo were transported through the airport over 9 months. Cargo transportation increased by 40 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

In total, 9,022 tons of cargo had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

The Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport is located on an area of about 1,000 hectares.
