TEHRAN, Iran, Feb. 2

Trend:

Iran is talking to China and Russia about building additional airports in Iran, the Managing Director of Iran Airports Company Siavash Amir Mokri said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

He pointed out that the mentioned talks envision possible work to be done in the next 20-25 years.

"We definitely need new international airports in the future,” Amir Mokri said.

There are 116 airports operating in Iran. There’s at least one operating airport in each province. Tehran (IKA) or Imam Khomeini International Airport is the biggest airport located in the south of Tehran, the capital city of Iran.

On March 27, the top diplomats of Iran and China signed a 25-year agreement on comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, which includes economic and cultural interaction.

On November 16, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told Russia's Vladimir Putin during a phone talk that Iran is ready to conclude a long-term agreement on comprehensive cooperation with Russia. The document would be similar to Iran’s 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement with China.
