BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. An enterprise with Russian participation is being created on the territory of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam industrial park, Russian Trade Representative in Baku Ruslan Mirsayapov told Trend.

According to Mirsayapov, the Azerbaijani Rail Trans Service company and the Russian "1520" group of companies, specializing in the production of infrastructure for railway transport, have reached an agreement on organizing a joint venture on the territory of the Aghdam industrial park for the design, construction and implementation of railway automation and telemechanics systems.

"The Russian company is transferring competencies to the Azerbaijani partner in the field of advanced automation and signaling systems, centralization and blocking (SCB),” he said. “Work is also underway to organize the production of these systems in Azerbaijan on the territory of the Aghdam industrial park.”

The trade representative noted that the activities will make allow obtain a modern Azerbaijani system of railway automation in a short time.

“The group of companies, in partnership with Rail Trans Service, has completed a project to modernize the automation and SCB and communication systems on the Boyuk-Kasik-Ujar railway section,” Mirsayapov further said.

“At the moment, train traffic on new railway signaling devices on all stations of the section with alternating current has already been launched," he added.

Earlier, a section of the Astara (Azerbaijan) - Astara (Iran) railway was modernized as part of the International North-South Transport Corridor. The project, which was ordered by Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC, included the detailed design, supply and installation of microprocessor-based SCB systems including telecommunications and other components, at Astara and Border stations.

Moreover, the Russian group of companies upgraded the railway crossings of Azerbaijan Railways and the signaling systems of the 42-kilometer Laki-Gabala railway line.
