BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 18. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 14.8 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 145,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 12th month. Of this, about 124,000 tons were loaded and 21,000 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 81,000 tons of cargo were exported and 9,260 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 12th month, 1,420 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,160 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 41,300 tons of cargo were loaded and about 4,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as,310 tons of cargo were loaded, while 5,590 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 12th month.
“So, 52,500 tons of essential products, 1,400 tons of metal products, 32,600 tons of construction and mining materials, 5,500 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 12th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 166 tons of chemicals, 156 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5,800 tons of container products, 46,800 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month preceding Iranian year.
