"The current Afghan government is ready to resume the railway to increase trade between the two countries," he said.

According to Ghasab, the construction of the fourth section has reached the city of Herat and would have access to industrial cities. The Afghanistan government is seeking to install the fourth section of the railway.

He stressed that all the following cases are to be discussed at the upcoming meeting in Kabul.

The Khaf-Herat Railway Project is a 225 km-long cross-border railway between Iran and Afghanistan. The railway project involves four sections, two of which are located in Iran and the remaining in Afghanistan that would transport goods and passengers.
