BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 19. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran) decreased by 36 percent in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2022), compared to the 11th month (January 21 through February 19, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 287,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 12th month. Of this, 16,000 tons were loaded and 271,000 tons were unloaded.

Also, 15,700 tons of cargo were exported and 194,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 488 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit in the 12th month.

According to the statistics, 76,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 446 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 12th month.

Over 182,000 tons of essential products, 18 tons of metal products, 15,700 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,800 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 12th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 440 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 132 tons of small and assorted products, 8,910 tons of container products and about 76,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

About 12.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 12th month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 6.2 million tons were loaded and 5.98 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 5.3 percent, compared to the same month preceding the Iranian year.
