BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. Volume of cargo transshipment through the Kazakh ports of Aktau and Kuryk exceeded 1 million tons in 1Q2022, Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development told Trend.

Ministry noted that this volume corresponds to the same period in 2021.

According to the information, an increase of more than 50 percent is noted in the volume of transshipment of wagons, also container traffic within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).

Currently, there are three operating seaports in Kazakhstan: Aktau, Bautino, and Kuryk.

Nowadays, Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a modern multi-purpose terminal that allows the transportation of goods from East to West, from North to South.

Bautino сargo port is a division of Aktau International Commercial Sea Port and is located in the village of Bautino (150 km from the city of Aktau), in the waters of the Bautino Bay of Tyubkaragansky Gulf.

Kuryk Port is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, south of Aktau city. The port has direct access to the railway and located in a natural bay, a gulf that provides favorable weather conditions for its operation. In this regard, the port is able to receive car and rail ferries all year round.
