TEHRAN, Iran, May 9. China CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rail Transport is to supply 630 wagons to Iran, said the CEO of Tehran Urban & Suburban Railway Operation Company Masoud Dorosti, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"The construction of wagons will start after Iran pays its 15 percent share that is in the wagon construction contract with China. The government has made good efforts in recent months to resolve the payment matter," he said.
He pointed out that the payment issue lasted for almost five years and the contract would officially come into power when Iran pays its share.
China’s CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rail Transport signed a contract in 2018 with Iran’s IDRO Group to supply 630 subway wagons. The Chinese company agreed to provide funds for up to 85 percent of the project as well as parts for assembly at Iranian train manufacturing company - Wagon Pars.
