BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 24.5 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 318,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 63,000 tons were loaded and about 255,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 57,000 tons of cargo were exported and 248,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 1st month.
Within the 1st month, 5,650 tons of cargo were loaded and 6,710 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 53 tons of cargo were loaded and 511 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 1st month.
"About, 237,000 tons of essential products, 6,200 tons of metal products, 57,300 tons of construction and mining materials, 1,140 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.
Moreover, 3,850 tons of chemicals, 1,720 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 695 tons of container products, 10,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.
In general, more than 12.8 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.49 million tons were loaded and 6.26 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 10.9 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
