TEHRAN, Iran, June 4. The cargo transit volume via Iran's roads has increased 50 percent in the first two months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022) said the director-general of Iran Road Maintenance & Transportation Organization Javad Hedayati, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
The major part of transit was via Iran's north-south corridor from the UAE, Iraq, Afghanistan, Central Asia, and the Caucasus.
He went on to say that the country has predicted 10 million tons of cargo transit from Russia if its roads are open.
A total of 9.3 million tons of cargo has been transited in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2021) which has doubled compared to 2020.
