BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. The profit from freight and passenger transportation through the Azerbaijani section of Transport Corridor Europe Caucasus Asia (TRACECA) amounted to 156,782 manat ($92,224) in the first quarter 2022, TRACECA told Trend.
TRACECA said that this figure is 6.9 percent or 10,800 manat ($6,350) more than from January through March 2021.
"More than 147,119 manat or $86,540 (an increase of 5.8 percent) was received from cargo transportation through the Azerbaijani section of TRACECA, and almost 9,663 manat ($5,680, an increase of 26.8 percent) from passenger transportation," TRACECA said.
The profit from freight and passenger traffic amounted to almost 146,728 manat ($86,300) in the first quarter of 2021.
Cargo transportation through the Azerbaijani section TRACECA exceeded 10.8 million tons in the first quarter of 2022, which is 6.7 percent more than the same period in 2021.
Over 6.1 million tons, or 56.3 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation, by road transport, accounted for more than 3.5 million tons (32.3 percent), by sea transport - more than 1.2 million tons (11.4 percent).
Transit cargo transportation accounted for more than 2.5 million tons (23.8 percent), of the total volume of cargo transportation.
