BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 18. The volume of cargo unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) decreased by 45 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 22,600 tons of cargo were unloaded in the Fereidoonkenar port during the reporting month.

Over the 2nd month, 15,700 tons of cargo were imported through this port, as well as 6,910 tons of cargo were unloaded at the port for transit.

More than 13,000 tons of essential products and 9,560 tons of crude oil and related products were unloaded through the port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.

Iran's Fereidoonkenar port is located on 69 hectares of land. The port has 2 platforms and 700,000 tons of cargo can be loaded and unloaded in the port per year.
