BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 20 percent in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 190,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 3rd month. Of this, about 175,000 tons were loaded and 15,000 tons were unloaded.

Furthermore, 109,000 tons of cargo were exported and 4,050 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.

Within the 3rd month, 868 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,180 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.

According to the statistics, 64,500 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 30 tons of cargo were loaded, while 8,830 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 3rd month.

“So, 54,400 tons of essential products, 8,420 tons of metal products, 55,900 tons of construction and mining materials, 2,890 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 92 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, about 8,900 tons of container products, and 59,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.

In general, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.8 million tons were loaded and 6.8 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
