BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 9. Iran's domestic airline companies paid taxes worth 3.78-4.32 trillion rials (about $90 million-$103 million) for tickets sold for domestic flights, during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through July 22, 2022), Secretary of Association of Iranian Airlines (AIA) Maghsoud Asadi Samani told Mehr News Agency, Trend reports.

The secretary said that Iran’s airline companies sold about 6 million tickets in 4 months. A total of 42 trillion-48 trillion rials (about $1 billion-$1.14 billion) were earned from ticket sales.

Asadi Samani also pointed out that the price of each sold ticket was 7-8 million rials (about $167-$190), and 9 percent value added tax (VAT) was charged on it.

“Of the mentioned 9-percent VAT, 1 percent is paid to health development, 4 percent - to municipalities, while 4 percent - to the government treasury,” he added.
