TEHRAN, Iran, September 1. Iran is to inaugurate 142 kilometers Zahedan – Khash railway that will be the first section of the Zahedan – Chabahar rail route, said the Managing Director of the Construction and Development of Transportation Infrastructures Company Kheirollah Khademi, Trend reports citing ILNA.
The railway project has been constructed in the last Iranian year (started March 21,2021) and is currently ready to operate, he said.
Zahedan - Chabahar railway is part of the International North-South Transportation Corridor (INSTC) within Iran, that links Chabahar to Sarakhs , connecting South Asia to the Central Asian and northern countries.
According to the official, installing 158 km of rail tracks for this project has been accomplished.
