BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 14 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, 6.25 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 5th month. Of this, about 3.24 million tons were loaded and 3.01 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 2.72 million tons of cargo were exported, while about 852,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 5th month.
Also, 83,500 tons of cargo were loaded and 330,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month.
According to the statistics, 298,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.65 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 5th month.
In the 5th month, about 137,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 142,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,350 tons of cargo were loaded, and 37,200 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
About 144,000 tons of essential products, 297,000 tons of metal products, 1.02 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 7,570 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, about 116,000 tons of chemicals, 1,260 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 22,200 tons of small and assorted products, about 1.63 million tons of container products, and about 3.01 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
