BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. Azerbaijan imported 49,254 cars from January through August 2022, which is 12.6 percent or 7,116 units less than in the same period last year, Trend reports via State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, bulk of imports fell on cars and other motor vehicles for the transport of passengers - 45,519, which is 13.27 percent, or 6,969 units less than in the same period the previous year.
Therefore, 329 minibuses, 267 electric vehicles and 8,210 hybrid vehicles were imported. The import of hybrid cars increased by 13.5 percent or 976 units compared to January through August 2021. Azerbaijan imported 7,234 hybrid cars from January through August 2021.
The number of trucks imported by Azerbaijan in the reporting period of 2022 decreased by 12.87 percent over the year to 3,202. The number of imported trucks amounted to 3,675 from January through August 2022.
Azerbaijan imported cars worth more than $657.98 million from January through August 2022, which is 15 percent or $86.2 million more than in the same period in 2021.
