BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 21. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 37.6 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 507,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, about 248,000 tons were loaded and about 259,000 tons were unloaded.

At the same time, 26,200 tons of cargo were exported and 3,880 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the 5th month.

Over the 5th month, 222,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 255,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

Furthermore, 209 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for other purposes.

Some 8,500 tons of construction and mining materials, 107 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts, 552 tons of chemicals, 16 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 462,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 738 tons of container products, and 34,700 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the 5th month of the current Iranian year.

In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
