BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 30.8 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, 6.62 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 6th month. Of this, about 3.78 million tons were loaded and 2.84 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, about 3.33 million tons of cargo were exported, while 982,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 6th month.
Also, 89,900 tons of cargo were loaded and about 380,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month.
According to the statistics, 224,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 1.3 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 6th month.
In the 6th month, about 134,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 135,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 2,550 tons of cargo were loaded, and 48,600 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 218,000 tons of essential products, about 407,000 tons of metal products, about 1.33 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 5,040 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, about 191,000 tons of chemicals, 22,500 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 57,000 tons of small and assorted products, about 1.86 million tons of container products, and about 2.54 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 13.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.67 million tons were loaded and about 6.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
