BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The volume of import and export operations in Azerbaijan amounted to about 41.6 million tons of cargo from January through September 2022, which is 1.9 percent more than in the same period the previous year, Trend report citing the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

The total value of cargo transportation increased by 73.3 percent - up to $39.8 million.

According to the committee, the export of cargo amounted to 35.3 million tons, while imports - more than 6.28 million tons in the reporting period.

A total of 42,673 tons of cargo were exported by sea, 1.9 million tons - by railway, 1.3 million tons - by road, 84,185 tons - by air, 31.8 million tons - by transportation by stationary vehicles and 7.96 tons of cargo were sent via post from January through September 2022.

In the reporting period, 590, 734 tons of cargo were imported into Azerbaijan by sea, more than three million tons - by rail, 2.21 million tons - by road, 7,377 tons by air and 425,316 tons - by stationary vehicles.

A total of 257.31 tons were imported in the amount of $63,658 into the territory of the country via post, which is by 16.94 percent more compared to the same period last year. The cost of shipped goods grew by 9.73 percent, to $63,657.
