BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Cargo transit through Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province (north-eastern Iran), increased by 53.4 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Razavi Khorasan Province Customs Office Javad Jafari said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
Jafari noted that a total of 1.15 million tons of cargo were transited through the province in 7 months, while in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at about 752,000 tons,” Jafari said.
“Of this, about 559,000 tons were transited through the Sarakhs customs of the province. This is an increase of 70 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (328,000),” he added.
According to the official, about 290,000 tons of cargo were transited through Dogharoon customs in 7 months, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (279,000 tons).
“Within 7 months, 305,000 tons of cargo were transited through the Lotfabad customs of the province, which is an increase of 112 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (about 144,000 tons),” Jafari said.
