BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), increased by 96 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Overall, approximately 294,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 8th month. So, about 224,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 70,100 tons were unloaded.

Also, 218,000 tons of cargo were exported and about 6,730 tons were imported through the Bandar Lengeh port during the 8th month.

"Furthermore, 816 tons of cargo were loaded and about 31,500 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, as well as 4,960 tons were loaded and 136 tons were unloaded for cabotage over the reporting month," the statistics said.

At the same time, 282 tons of cargo were loaded and 31,700 tons were unloaded in this port for other purposes.

Some 128,000 tons of essential products, 33 tons of metal products, 100,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 33,100 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts and 461 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 60 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 31,800 tons of container products, and 23 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in the port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
