BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 5. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 3.7 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, over 665,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, about 326,000 tons were loaded and more than 339,000 tons were unloaded.

At the same time, 52,900 tons of cargo were exported and 7,470 tons were imported through the Qeshm port in the 8th month.

Over the 8th month, over 272,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 332,000 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage.

Furthermore, 255 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for other purposes.

Some 349 of essential products, 4 tons of metal products, 12,700 tons of construction and mining materials, 642 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 54 tons of chemicals, 75 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 551,000 tons of small and assorted goods, 890 tons of container products, and about 99,200 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the Qeshm port within the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
