BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 12. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 41.9 percent, in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 10,900 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 8th month. Of this, 6,980 tons were loaded and 3,960tons were unloaded.

Some 6,970 tons of cargo were exported and 3,960 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.

In addition, 14 tons of cargo were loaded in the port for transit during the 8th month.

About 22 tons of essential products, 126 tons of metal products, and 3,290 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 14 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 2,980 tons of chemicals, 3,970 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 108 tons of small and assorted goods, and 431 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
