BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports decreased by 8.1 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month of the last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
In total, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. Of the mentioned volume, about 6.6 million tons were loaded and about 5.4 million tons were unloaded.
“Some 3.67 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month, which is a decrease of 9.9 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 1.85 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and 1.82 million tons were unloaded. The loaded oil products decreased by 21.5 percent, while unloaded products increased by 6 percent compared to the same month of the last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
In addition, approximately 2 million tons of essential products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports within the mentioned month, which is a decrease of 18.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 182,000 tons were loaded and 1.81 million tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, 874,000 tons of metal products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 9th month, which is an increase of 28.9 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 832,000 tons were loaded and 42,600 tons were unloaded.
“At the same time, 2.25 million tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the reporting month. This is an increase of 11 percent compared to the same month of the last Iranian year. Of this, 2.15 million tons were loaded and 100,000 tons were unloaded,” the statistics said.
Within the 9th month, 60,200 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports. This is an increase of 27.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 13,200 tons were loaded and 47,000 tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, about 519,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 28.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, 401,000 tons were loaded and about 118,000 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 81,600 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, paper, and wood materials were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports over the 9th month, which is a decrease of 40.3 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 2,070 tons of goods were loaded and 79,500 tons were unloaded.
More than 765,000 tons of small and assorted products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports during the same month. The loaded/unloaded products increased by 0.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. Of this, about 367,000 tons were loaded and 398,000 tons were unloaded.
According to the statistics, 1.72 million tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month, which is a decrease of 28.5 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year. So, 789,000 tons of container products were loaded and 934,000 tons were unloaded.
Moreover, about 5.46 million tons of goods were exported and 2.67 million tons were imported through Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.
Also, 199,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 366,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for transit within the mentioned month.
In the 9th month, 811,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 2.13 million tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for cabotage, as well as approximately 111,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 94,500 tons were unloaded for transshipment.
“Over the 9th month, 8,260 tons of cargo were loaded and 88,000 tons were unloaded in Iranian ports for other purposes,” the statistics said.
