BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. The Swiss Stadler Rail company, a manufacturer of railway rolling stock, plans to supply four diesel-electric trains to Azerbaijan by the end of 2023, the company’s press service told Trend.
According to the press service, six more trains will be delivered to the country next year, in 2024.
"In 2019, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC and Stadler signed a contract for the supply of the first 10 FLIRT [Fast Light Intercity and Regional Train] single-deck trains, of which four trains are designed as inter-regional diesel-electric trains, three electric trains - as inter-regional and three as regional,” the press service said, adding that the first ordered trains are currently in various production stages.
